After picking up my cap and gown for graduation and exploring the different tables about announcements, class rings and the possibility of grad school, I realized that my days at Western Kentucky University are numbered. I’m not sure why it didn’t dawn on me until I packed up my bag of brochures and walked back to my car, but the feeling that I had was a mixture of sadness and excitement.
I’ve had many amazing, fun-filled semesters at WKU, but I have to say that the best was definitely saved for last. My time at Imagewest has taught me lessons that I would have never learned in a classroom and prepared me for my future in public relations. This opportunity has given me more confidence in my writing and public speaking skills and also taught me how to balance my priorities. Imagewest has taught me the meaning of teamwork and I feel blessed to have worked with such an awesome group of people!
Through my internship, I have had experiences I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. I’ve had the chance to meet with actual clients and work with the team to research how we can help them out. I’ve learned to think creatively and strategically and how to work under a deadline. I’ve enjoyed the learning experience, but when I look back on my experience at Imagewest, it will be the inside jokes, crock-pot cooking and friendships that I’ve made that I will remember most.
