Upon being accepted into Imagewest as graphic designers, we were very excited. We were proud that we gained not only our first internship, but also a work experience that would end up proving to be extremely valuable.
The benefits we have received from Imagewest are innumerable. Perhaps the most important thing that we experienced was working with clients face to face. This type of interaction we experienced taught us many things about ourselves and how to handle certain situations.
We also experienced a unique style of work that you cannot encounter in the classroom, collaboration with non-designers. Working alongside other designers, account executives and public relations coordinators was fun for the both of us. This back and forth critiquing of projects was something that we will experience more often in the future and we are better off because of it.
In our minds, this program has proven that it is perhaps the greatest internship experience you can have at Western Kentucky University.
All of these experiences have given us great confidence in our portfolios, uncovered what we need to accomplish before we enter the work field and what we need to do in our search for our first job.
All of these experiences have inspired us to create a top ten list of things interns have experienced during the fall semester 2009.
